Making Connections

To Our Local Human Services Organizations
Receive Assistance or Help Out
In our travels to assist our patrons who are in need or who cannot come to the Library, we often meet other volunteers who are also helping our neighbors to stay in their homes for as long as possible, connect with resources for food, shelter and other services, or stay connected to our troops abroad and at home.

Consider these local organizations for your specific needs or volunteer interests.

Books for Troops

BOOKS FOR TROOPS, INC. collects and ships books to troops to;
  • give them an escape from the horrors they see each day;
  • offer them a release from homesickness, boredom, and stress;
  • show them they are not forgotten by those at home whom they are sacrificing so much to keep free; and
  • remind them of home and how proud we are of them.
The mission has now expanded to include 18 VA hospitals across the US; the American Red Cross Wounded Warriors Program, as well as the families of troops, in particular the children.

If you wish to inquire about their services, please contact Ellen Keegan, Founder and Director.
