Calling All Gardeners - our Plant Swap and Sale is not to be missed!

The Plant Swap and Sale scheduled for June 2020 has been cancelled to help prevent the spread of the COVID 19 Coronavirus.  We will provide more information as it becomes available.

Want to help?  Our Volunteers:

*Help with set up and clean up
* Greet swappers and buyers
* Label and sort plants
* Enjoy chatting with other gardeners, and/or
* Serve on the Plant Swap Committee

Interested?  Our sales are currently on hiatus as we limit social contact to control COVID-19. Contact Susan Cromer at geoteach98@aol.com for more information.

Our Plant Swap and Sale is BARE ROOT ONLY due to invasive Jumping Worm.
Sale Day Details
Plants Should be Bare Root Only with Plant Tag Attached
This is a BARE ROOT ONLY sale (wash plant roots three times and bring plants in water, not soil) to avoid spreading the invasive Jumping Worm. (Read about this invasive species here.).

We recommend bringing plants in gallon size baggies (zip ones work best) with a little water in the bottom. Leave the top partially open so the plant can breathe.

Plants should have tags describing the plant. (Click here) for downloadable labels or pick up labels  on the Friends bureau in the lobby of the Library after May 15th.)

Swapping Plants
Plans regarding a 2021 Swap and Sale, usually held on the first Saturday in June, are on hiatus until we know more about the pandemic. If we have the event, Drop Off will be in the Library’s Board Room Friday before the sale, between 1:30 PM and 5:00 PM, or on the day of sale under the Library portico, beginning at 9:30 AM and no later than 11:00 AM
A
nyone donating plants will be given a credit of $1 per plant up to a $5 total to use toward swapping;  swappers will be allowed into the sale at 9:45 AM.

Buying Plants
From 10:00 AM until noon, any plants not taken in swap will be available for purchase by any interested community member. We keep the prices very low (50 cents to three dollars depending on size and rarity of the plant, with a few really special plants slightly higher).
