Help Us Do More!

Our Community Scholarships Program keeps growing!
Through your memberships and used book sale proceeds, the Friends award 2 scholarships each year.
In 2017, a local family, the Gerhardts, sponsored another scholarship.

Other members of the community have told us that, although they are not able to support an entire scholarship, they would like to be part of the effort, so we have initiated a Community-Supported Scholarship  Fund to which anyone can contribute any amount.

So, there are now two options :
  • Donate to the Community-Supported Scholarship fund in any amount, Or
  • Sponsor a Full Scholarship.

                 (Read details in next column.)

Our initial effort to explore an infusion of funds to support more scholarships met with great success when the Gerhardts offered to kick off our campaign.
Karen and Lester Gerhardt, long-time members of the community, and patrons and lovers of our Library, sponsored their first $1,000 Scholarship for 2017 for a deserving local high school student who will be attending college (see awards and photos here).
The second annual Karen and Lester Gerhardt 2018 Scholarship will be available to all graduating seniors in 2018.
The Scholarship Application period
begins January 2, 2018

This is a multi-year donation.
