Photos from Fun with Origami Event

Fun with Origami - Saturday, April 13, 2013

It was a very busy event! (clockwise from top) Junior Friend demos the paper crane folds to a rapt audience. Mei Wu, expert in folding the paper crane, in a one-to-one moment. Teen attendee takes it to the next level - demos the flapping paper crane - to an amazed and grateful group of Junior Friends. Mei Wu, again, working with children eager to learn.

Kids Read, Too Event at Winterfest, 2013

Winterfest - Saturday, February 9, 2013

(clockwise from right) Local teen, Erika Persons, shown with her parents, donates dozens of exquisite paper cranes and other origami to the Kids Read, Too! effort to collect 1,000 paper cranes/origami to send to the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima, Japan, as our gesture for world peace. Thank you, Erika! Junior Friends with Library mascot, Tad (aka another Junior Friend), take a moment to share smiles and a love of reading. Working hard and having fun at the paper crane table.
